About us

Publication scheme

We comply with the government-wide publication scheme, which suggests that certain types of publications should be made available to the public, by making them available on our websites.

How to find the documents

We publish a lot of information and documents on our websites already, and we will continue to add to this. You can find many documents here on this website, just by searching for them.

You should be able to find information by:

  • searching this website
  • browsing through the About us area
  • searching the internet using a browser (Google, for example)

If you don't know the precise title of a document, you can search using keywords, or by using the categories in the the Home Office guidance.

Occasionally information is published on other, more appropriate, government websites, including:

So may be worth using a search engine like Google to find information on the internet, if you can't find it by searching the Home Office.

What to do if you can’t find a document

It’s not possible to publish every document on the website - some information may be considered sensitive or inappropriate.

If you can’t find what you are looking for please email: public.enquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk with your query, and we will try to help.

Comments and complaints

If you have a comments or complaints to make then please email: public.enquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk, and we will get back to you.
