10940 - A request for information was made regarding the amount of money spent on flights, by class, by the Home Office

The following information was released on 11 February 2009:

The total amount spent on flights, on contract by the core Home Office and UKBA in 2006/07 was £3,476,385.
The total amount spent on flights, on contract by the core Home Office, UKBA and CRB in 2007/08 was £2,536,066.

The total amount spent on flights on contract, by class, by the core Home Office and UKBA in 2007/08 was as follows:
First class/Business Class - £1,662,246
Economy Class - £824,424
(Cost of cancellations - £34,709)

Additionally the attached extract from the department’s ‘Travel and Subsistence Manual’ regarding flights was released.
