We have received a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for full details of how many proposals were made under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 to use animals in science in 2007; how many of these proposals were accepted and how many were rejected, in each year since 2001…including details of all instances where licences have been refused and for what reason, during this period.

We have taken the request to relate to applications for project licences under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986.

We released the information we held on the 31 March 2008
