Applying for a passport when you're overseas
If you are outside the UK and wish to apply for a British passport, your application cannot be processed in our UK centres and must instead be submitted to our overseas service provider, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
To apply for a new British passport or to renew your British passport while you're resident abroad, you must contact a regional passport processing centre. Each regional processing centre processes applications from certain countries.
To find which centre will process your application, follow the link below to the 'Passports' section of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website. Select the country you're in from the A to Z listing to get contact details of the regional processing centre and information on how to apply for your passport.
