The Annual Report for 2005-06 of the National DNA Database Board chaired by Tony Lake, Chief Constable, Lincolnshire Constabulary, shows how work during the year supported the Board’s six strategic objectives: to establish independent oversight, obtain DNA profiles from the active criminal population, maintain public confidence, improve the effectiveness of the Database, develop its use in partnership with other agencies in the criminal justice system, and to enhance its position as the world-leading DNA Database
