Consultation on a review of road traffic offences involving bad driving
This consultation is now closed.
Bad driving is an area of particular concern to the public, and the government shares these concerns. The government believes that it is vital to ensure the criminal law is fully effective in addressing bad driving and its all too often appalling consequences.
This consultation follows a wide-ranging review of the existing criminal law concerning bad driving, during which, a range of interested parties including the police, judges and road safety groups were consulted.
The consultation puts forward a radical set of proposals to create a sensible and effective framework of offences to deal with bad driving and to help create safer roads for everyone.
