Requirement for carriers to obtain passengers' travel documents or passports before travel to the UK
This provision seeks to reduce the number of undocumented arrivals (UDAs) at UK ports, and subsequent abuse of the asylum system, by minimising the benefit to passengers of destroying or disposing of documents at any point prior to their presentation at the UK immigration control.
