Science and innovation strategy 2009-12
Science is essential to the Home Office for informing, developing and implementing policies to meet our objectives and to protect the public. Our work relies on a wide range of science, including physical science and engineering, social sciences, statistics, economics and operational research.
This strategy document describes our priorities for science, and the processes by which we will manage and deliver this science. It also describes our future approach to regulating animal scientific procedures and forensic science. Key to this strategy is how we will work with partners across government, industry and academia.
This strategy builds on the work of the previous Home Office science and innovation strategy 2005 – 08.
