Youth Crime Action Plan

The youth crime action plan is a comprehensive, cross-government analysis of what the government is going to do to tackle youth crime.

It sets out a 'triple track' approach of enforcement and punishment where behaviour is unacceptable, non-negotiable support and challenge where it is most needed, and better and earlier prevention.

It makes clear that the government will not tolerate behaviour that causes misery and suffering for innocent victims.

One Year On

The Youth Crime Action Plan - One Year On sets out the progress we have made, and describes the action we will take over the next year. It highlights how we will continue to take action to ensure that we build the confidence of communities, families and young people. At the centre of our plan is a commitment to ensure that the public knows about our work, can have a say in it, and is confident that we are doing the right things and achieving results.

Safer school partnerships

As part of the youth crime action plan, safer school partnerships are being created around the country. These are formal arrangements between schools and police to work together to keep young people safe, reduce crime and improve behaviour. 

As part of these arrangements, a police officer or police community support officer will work at a school or cluster of schools with pupils and staff.
