Responses to policing in the 21st century: reconnecting police and the people

The policing in the 21st century consultation set out the government's vision for policing and how it will:

• cut crime and protect the public
• be more directly accountable to the public
• offer value for money

The consultation was launched in July 2010 and an initial response was published in December 2010.
