This summarises the responses to the consultation, Obtaining better value for money from police procurement, published on 26 July 2010. It also includes the government’s response, and next steps.

This consultation invited responses to the government’s proposals to make regulations under sections 53 and 57 of the Police Act 1996 to require the police service to buy certain categories of equipment and services through specified contractual arrangements.
