Keeping vulnerable people safe

The coalition government said it was going to bring commonsense to the vetting and barring scheme because it had listened to all those people who, since the legislation has been introduced, have had problems with it - such as volunteers saying that, 'well, for two hours a week its not worth it or too much effort.' Businesses, community groups saying there's too much bureaucracy.

So this coaltion government has listened to that and said 'right, we're going to remodel the scheme and therefore the registration which would have started on July the 26th is halted.
