Street crime covers the offences of robbery – both against the person and against businesses – and snatch thefts.
The Street Crime Initiative
This initiative targeted the ten police force areas where street crime levels were highest. There were over 30 different projects designed to tackle the street crime problem from different angles.
We commissioned a number of research studies that helped develop the Street Crime Initiative, including research into:

the nature of the robbery problem
conducting video identification parades
